Why is Teaching
better than Training?
Saving
Time and Money
Compared to other training techniques, methods employed speed up
the animal's learning process many times over. What a traditional
trainer would spend 7 or more one-hour lessons teaching an animal,
PE can teach in one. So, if you have one traditional lesson per
week, PE can teach in one hour what others may need two months to
train. Generally, desensitizing to fear evoking scenarios takes
hours instead of months. Teaching new athletic skill can also be
achieved virtually overnight and without a drop of sweat as opposed
to weeks of traditional training. Because the animal chooses to
learn each behavior of his/her own free will, there is no need for
constant repetition, brushing up, repeated lessons, or months of
training. New skills and behaviors are learned internally and are
not "person dependent". Any goal can be achieved within weeks and
at much less cost than would be incurred with traditional trainers.
Learning
Schedules
Animals have an attention span of
roughly 2-4 hours, repeatable up to three times a day, allowing
6 hours a day of teaching time. Sessions which last as long as the
attention span of the student are most efficient. Or, sessions may
be blocked hourly per owner request. Sessions do not require repetition.
Teaching multiple animals in one day is an efficient use of time,
giving each animal a break between sessions while attention is given
to others. Standard learning curve maps are provided to owners.
PE students require no gear up/gear down, so consecutive visits
require zero review time, regardless of weeks or months elapsed
between sessions.
Dangerous,
Anxiety Bound, and Fear Driven Animals
Aggressive, frightened, unpredictable, anxious, unruly, and dangerous
animals are recoverable. Bad habits that fall into these camps are
nearly always caused by previously experienced abuse, neglect, accident,
trauma, or injury. After traumatic events, behavior can change drastically,
or phobias can generate slowly over time. With PE, animals learn
how to CHOOSE to confront their own fears, to self-desensitize,
to trust their human handlers, and they learn how to handle painful
memories in safe and constructive ways. PE does not force fearful
animals to learn; they are invited to overcome fear at the pace
they choose. The pace increases exponentially as the animal builds
upon his or her own emotional strengths.
Working
and Competing Animals
Owners of animals who have jobs involving higher levels of physical
and mental demand often meet technical challenges along the way.
At certain glitch points, unexpected changes in motivations, abilities,
or intentions can confuse or stall progress. Sometimes causes and
or solutions for these glitches are unclear to trainers and handlers.
PE works in conjunction with the animal-human pair by first observing
and interpreting the pair's working interactions. PE then improve
upon skills in effective application of requests. See Will-Skill

Practitioner
Safety: Vets, Specialists, Handlers,
Farriers
Animal health practitioners all have
certain cases who are less than active partners in their treatment
because they present defensive or offensive habits and because they
are dangerous to self and others during treatment. When sedation
is not an option due to elevated risk, the animal's voluntary participation
is of paramount importance. Partnership Engineering can help.
Opportunity
Inside every "bad" tendency there
lies an opportunity to teach the opposite belief, motivation, and
behavior. Much can be learned about your animal's intellectual and
emotional perspective and how to use that specific "mental fingerprint"
to achieve flexible, courageous, calm, and rational behavior. PE
helps the animal to discover and use his/her inner tools to survive,
accept and actually choose scenarios that were previously trouble
provoking. PE teaching puts the responsibility on the animal. Teaching
the owner comes next.
Limitations
Is your animal too far gone to fix?
Here is a good gauge. If there is any situation at all, even at
rest or leisure, where your animal acts very predictably, s/he is
a good candidate for the teaching process. Mild neural and even
sizable physical limitations do not detract from progress. The PE
process is perfectly suited for teaching animals to learn how to
adapt to disability or physical impairment. The only animals that
cannot be helped with this process are those suffering from moderate
neural pathology, diagnosed or undiagnosed, or severe physical pain.
What Partnership
Engineering is Not...
PE applies only learning analysis
and motivation analysis methods.
PE does NOT utilize Energy Field,
Healing Touch, Mapping, or other physical contact methodologies.
PE does NOT utilize Medium, Psychic,
Communicator, Telepathy, or any Spiritual methodologies.
